This shop is so dang cute! Everything that encompasses “boudoir.” Feminine, Frenchy, and delicate. I was lucky enough to drop in when Alicia, the owner, was in. It was a lot of fun getting to chat with her about her shop. If you ladies are considering a boudoir shoot, this shop is a must for lingerie. Everything I would ever want to wear or photograph for a boudoir shoot is in the shop. And it is displayed in the most delicious way. Makes you feel like you are shopping on the streets of Paris. I asked the owner of Douce et Romantique how to properly pronounce the name of her adorable lingerie boutique. Frederique sweetly replied “Do-Say Roe-man-teek” in her French accent. Being a visual person, I have to say that I noticed the décor right away. The space has a very clean, elegant look. I told Frederique that I loved the furniture and she said all of the décor was brought in from France! As I browsed through her large boutique, I saw that the store offers a good range of prices. Some items were quite affordable and some a bit more expensive. Frederique told me that she orders new styles of lingerie and sleepwear every week to ensure variety for her clients. She also said that she would happily special order anything (including sizes she may not have in stock). Her lingerie comes from France and she orders her unique jewelry from Paris. Douce et Romantique, which, by the way, means “Sweet and Romantic” will also have a swimsuit selection for the coming San Diego Summer. I walked into Jolie Femme and instantly liked the bright colors and classy chandeliers. I was greeted by Melody, who was very friendly and outgoing. Within a couple minutes, I felt totally comfortable chatting with her while I browsed the racks of lingerie. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that everything with a silver ribbon was 60% off!
